At Set Apart Physical Therapy we provide skilled-based physical therapy within your home to optimize your ability to move, so you can get back to doing the things you enjoy.
Set Apart Physical Therapy focuses on empowering and equipping our clients to regain, improve, or maintain optimal movement due to an injury, after surgery, years of poor posture/positioning, decreased flexibility, impaired coordination, weakness, or impaired balance.

We work with children 4 years old to 18 who present with developmental diagnoses, global delays, a genetic, or medical condition(s) that impacts the youth's gross motor abilities. We prioritize family-centered care by establishing realistic functional goals with the family, and ongoing family education. Set Apart Physical Therapy also collaborate with other healthcare professionals. The treatment sessions are organized to provide age-appropriate activities that are interesting and fun to the child/adolescent.
LSVT BIG certified clinician. We provide specifically designed exercises for people with Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders to get them to move BIG and better. We work with many senior citizens to improve their gait and balance to prevent falls.
Many orthopedic conditions can be treated within the home with simple equipment. These include the following: low back pain, joint pain/discomfort, hip replacement, knee pain, ankle pain, shoulder pain (impingement, rotator cuff), elbow and wrist. We value honesty and will refer out if it is beyond our scope.
Dr. Debbie Beckford, PT, DPT is the founder and CEO of Set Apart Physical Therapy, P.L.L.C. Debbie graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Stony Brook University. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University. Debbie is a certified LSVT BIG clinician.
Debbie has over 10 years of experience as a physical therapist, working with infants, school-age children, adults, and seniors. Debbie has provided physiotherapy services to clients with a wide range of medical diagnoses, including spinal cord injuries, developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, achondroplasia, Klinefelter, down syndrome, developmental coordination disorder, status post-surgical procedures (total hip/total knee), multiple sclerosis, Parkinson among other medical conditions.
Debbie loves seeing her clients achieve their gross motor goals, increase functional mobility, independence, and have a better quality of life. She also is keen on learning and improving her physical therapy skills through continuing education. Outside of physical therapy, Debbie enjoys meditative hikes, cooking vegan meals, laughing, Pilates, sprouting, and growing wheatgrass on her countertop.
